Life :: Honoured Queen Kimberly

Kim is a member of Job's Daughters. Job's Daughters (or Jobies as it's commonly referred to by members) is a youth group for girls between the ages of 10-20 who are related to a Mason. (Think of the Shriners, who have the Shriner's circus. You know, the fellows in the funny red hats who ride the tiny bikes. Yeah! Those guys!) Jobies is a group for their younger family members to learn important skills such as public speaking, leadership and team work. The girls have specific offices with different duties, for example, Treasurer or Recorder. Kim recently spent 6 months serving in the elected position of Honoured Queen. It was her responsibility to not only plan events and fundraisers, but also to run their meetings as per Robert's Rules of Order. It takes a lot of time, dedication and effort to serve as Honoured Queen, and Kim did it all at the age of 16! (Most girls are usually a year or so older when they are elected by the other members to be HQ.)
I had a great time at Kim's HQ session tonight and love so many of these pictures!
